XTREME KARTS XF 1,212 Posted June 15, 2015 Hey fella's, I need to reposition the LPG converter as im reinstalling the standed airbox. Is the postion of the converter critical for it to perform well? This is where its located. Was thinking of mounting it like this? Or in a different position would be better? 1 Nath reacted to this
PRO250 1,506 Posted June 15, 2015 Close to the gas ring is always good. Theres so much stuff in there its always hard to find a place for it
bear351c 10,273 Posted June 15, 2015 I was told years ago, when I ran a Clevo on twin converters, that they should be mounted horizontally, like in that last pic. Problems arise when going over large bumps...... Any LPG guru's know??
TUFE 284 Posted June 15, 2015 B2s horizontal insure best function. Not that ive ever had them not horizontal
blackxt 699 Posted June 17, 2015 I have had them mounted both horizontal and vertical , I have never noticed a different in how they behave , but there meant to gum up a lot faster , I have never ran into this issue but I've never driven one like it for more than a year . Gaz 1,085 Posted June 18, 2015 Not that I give a fuck and most people wouldn't either, but the current position of that converter would never pass either a roadworthy or a gas compliance test. Just sayin'. 2 XTREME KARTS XF and PRO250 reacted to this
RAWDEAL 222 Posted July 19, 2015 I am pretty sure that ltd i have thats here , has the converter mounted like the 2nd picture. was a 225/impco setup like that picture. let me know if you need any mounts and stuff? i am running a carb manifold so that stuff is all useless lol
deankxf 20,316 Posted July 20, 2015 if you mount it on the engine you will need flexible hose(not copper line) from the lock off to converter. if you have room there, why not.
