xfish 20 Posted August 30, 2014 HI folks I'd like to install footwell lights in my ELXR8, and have read that the best source is to tap into the ignition switch light. hendrixhc 10,921 Posted August 30, 2014 Im assuming you only want it lit at night? Couldnt you pull 12v from any light bulb source eg shifter light or cigarette lighter illumination. SLO247 1,713 Posted August 30, 2014 The big plug for the centre console under the radio has the interior light trigger wires too. That's where the rear console light plugs in. For that one you can even use the console loom from a fairmont etc. Just swaps over but has a globe holder too. Then the lense replaces the blank cover. There or the column light are fine. hendrixhc 10,921 Posted August 30, 2014 Hook it in to the door switch wiring behind the kick panel. Remember the door switches switch earth so youll need a 12v supply to power the other side of the lamp. You can get that from any 12v circuit. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
