bigpaulo 239 Posted August 6, 2014 When you take the dash pad out of an XF falcon, underneath it on the glovebox side there is a black plastic chamber thats kind of bubbly...sorta looks like a small version of a coolant reservoir on the later model falcons. It also has a vacuum line running into it. What is it and what does it do? Just curious thats all. Cheers!
xr6tjet 98 Posted August 6, 2014 I presume you are referring to the vacuum tank? A vacuum tank's purpose is to assist vacuum operated components like heater etc... I'm sure there is a better meaning somewhere this is just my understanding.
bigpaulo 239 Posted August 6, 2014 yeah thats probably it. so, being a vacuum tank, if you disconnect it then reconnect it do you have to...er...anti pressurize it again?
SLO247 1,713 Posted August 6, 2014 Yes its the vacuum tank. You just need to make sure its connected, nothing funny to do when you refit it. 1 bear351c reacted to this
bear351c 10,273 Posted August 6, 2014 Runs off manifold vacuum, will 'fill up' when your engine is running. It's a bit like a reservoir.
