I was thinking of a toned down version of this. The Pulsar G42-1200 seems to be extreme overkill in my case...I dunno if the 750 quickfuel would be necassary either as I'm chasing roughly half the power, but I love the idea of this car.

I wonder if the little turbos were intended for the AIT twin turbo kits as that would make sense as two of those would blow enough air to feed a 4.1. I remember seeing lots of articles back in 80's of the twin turbo XF's and the AWD monster that got trashed in the UK. I'd imagine those kits being very collectable nowadays.

an exa turbo on a 1.8litre revving to say 6000rpm ish probably at 7psi is probably comparable to a crossflow on 4psi revving to 4000 ish ..
is probably how they came to do those types of kits,
they'd been a big low/mid range boost and not be too taxing on the stock drivetrain or require brake upgrades most likely.
if they wanted to make power, they'd have needed different everything -
Maybe, the AIT kits did, I would of thought the Exa would of had a tiny turbo from factory, but who knows, dont know m7ch about those cars. TO4 seemed to be the go to turbo during the 80's for turbo crossflow setups. It would be interesting to see the improvement that the old Mike Vine and AIT kits would have with a modern turbo like GT3576R, I'd imagine turbo response and spooling would be massively improved.

The car's in pieces at the moment, but I can dig out the turbo, for a close look I read once, the kits used Nissan Exa turbo's or similar? -
That's cool always like the AIT kits for the XE XF falcons. Do you know what size turbo you have? Normal the kit would of had some form of TO4 attached. I was thinking of seeing if Mike Vine turbo's still had t4 flanged manifold availible as they were well built and compact. The other option is a 6boost manifold, a bit pricey but very nice.

My XE wagon project, has an 80's Nissan branded turbo, on an AIT exhaust manifold, if that's helpful? 😅 -
I remember seeing in Street Machine a few years back a red XF that had a blow thru setup on the crossflow with a monster sized Pulsar turbo that made over 400rwkw's.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAmnSIA9ZSE The Pulsars seem to be almost identical to a Garrett turbo according to this video.

the only memory i've seen of a pulsar turbo, is i'm fairly sure the 8 second 1/4 mile gemini was using one or their 9 second street gemini uses one at 40+ psi. (i have a feeling the 8 second gemini is running something different now, but not 100% sure)
there really isn't many active members here anymore, and most aren't into turbos/boost anyway. you'd probably have a better response asking on a facebook group and filtering out all the troll comments.
