Todd 13 Posted July 31, 2021 Brakes pedal dragging and can be really touchy and way too hard after xy 351c astra pump conversion.booster passes basic test and loosened master cylinder nuts to check rod adjustment and vacuum reading is terrible at 14 at idle and only reaching 20 at 3000 rpm. So I’m guessing my power steering pump stealing my vacuum has anyone come across this before and any checks ideas too what’s causing this

Todd 13 Posted August 1, 2021 Thanks dean that will be my next set of checks ,front calipher hoses and rear hose (drum brakes) about 2 years old 1 deankxf reacted to this

ESPSIX 143 Posted August 1, 2021 Best to rebuild all brake components, you might find that when you do the callipers and go to bleed the brakes, you push the master cyl pistons into the gunk build up and brakes will still drag. 1 deankxf reacted to this

Agree 100%. You may end up pushing "junk" fluid back into the master cylinder etc, so flush the whole system out, bleed all the calipers/wheel cyls. Be prepared.! the front caliper pistons may be rusty and need changing, could be expensive. But your life is worth it, Yes.??
ESPSIX 143 Posted August 3, 2021 Before you bleed them, google, brake bleeding hack and watch the YouTube vid with the spray bottle pump. works awesome!!
