Petr Janda 0 Posted April 22, 2016 Hi, I had to return a set of spool rods because some big ends were out of round by more than 0.0005" and one rod big end was actually too big. My engine builder also tells me the ARP bolts aren't genuine. Hmmm! Has anyone had such experience with spool imports? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ando76 4,354 Posted April 23, 2016 Well they have to be better than 20 year old factory 200 rods. By the time you find a set, have them cracked tested, stress relieved, shot peeped fitted with new bolts and balanced they turn out to be pretty expensive rods. Spool rods have been used in some pretty tough engines and a mate has had a set in an endurance Motorsport crossflow for many years without issue. I have a set of PPM ones as well.
