Mevans12 0 Posted February 11, 2016 Hi all, I am trying to get a positive ID on this wheel, which i believe is originally from a Ford Falcon. The specs are as follows: 14" rim, 5 studs, stud diameter 12.7mm or 1/2", centre of adjacent studs 66.675mm or 2 5/8", PCD 114.3mm or 4 1/2", Hub Hole Diameter 60mm. Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
MNTL.XD 3,831 Posted February 11, 2016 Just looks like a standard XD gl Falcon wheel to me mate. Usually silver with four black sections.
SPArKy_Dave 8,894 Posted February 11, 2016 Looks like a small center hub. There will be a date code on the wheel. 2 MNTL.XD and revhead reacted to this
revhead 1,392 Posted February 11, 2016 xy xa rim, itl have roh or something marked on the inside of the centre
Mevans12 0 Posted February 11, 2016 Thanks guys...SPArKy_Dave...by date code on the wheel, do you mean as in on the inside of the rim, literally inside the tyre? Just going by appearances i see things like this and wonder if its earlier than XD. But i am a noob. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161965315473?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
SPArKy_Dave 8,894 Posted February 11, 2016 Yep, the code could be under the tyre. The early steel bands had the date codes there. The later wheels had them near the valve stem, along with the wheel size.
MNTL.XD 3,831 Posted February 11, 2016 Looks like a small center hub. It is too, anything pre xc then? Pretty sure the larger 70mm centre started on the XC, so previous to that so XW through to XB? I don't think these came out on XR/T, but maybe XW/XY? Not sure.
Mevans12 0 Posted February 17, 2016 Hi again. So i had a closer look at that rim and YES as ReVhEaD had suggested i found a stamp on the outside face of the rim that said "ROH MADE IN AUSTRALIA". So does this along with the small (60mm) centre hub hole confirm it as XA or earlier?? Your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. SPArKy_Dave 8,894 Posted February 17, 2016 Is the rim spot welded or riveted together?
