Gerry Ahern 366 Posted June 25, 2015 Xb has constant power to wipers, radio, lighter no matter what position key is in. Would people agree that this is very unlikely to be an ignition switch problem but more likely some dick has connected 12 volts directly to something, probably radio? SPArKy_Dave 8,901 Posted June 25, 2015 Doesn't have the original radio in it?
SPArKy_Dave 8,901 Posted June 25, 2015 Pull fuses one at a time, and see which one (if any) makes the wipers, etc stop getting power. It could very well be a sticking contact in the ignition switch.
Gerry Ahern 366 Posted June 25, 2015 Okay, thanks - so it could be the switch.
Ando81 2,950 Posted July 5, 2015 My xf does this randomly, if I turn the key right off sometimes the accessories stay on for roughly 20 seconds. I've heard Toyota echos used to do this from dirty ignition barrels. I've been told to give it a good dose of contact cleaner into the key slot, the same as fixing an echo ignition but thought I better check with someone here first. 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
Gerry Ahern 366 Posted July 5, 2015 Thanks for that. I am going to take out the barrel and give it a clean 1 Outback Jack reacted to this
