unfamilia 1,938 Posted December 23, 2014 Just wondering if 10mm clearance from tyre to coil over spring pearch is enough to take into tyre deflection on a 185 55 15 tyre
gerg 10,871 Posted December 23, 2014 I would say yes but from a roadworthy point of view, that's on the absolute limit of clearance. Is this in your Datto?
gerg 10,871 Posted December 24, 2014 Cause 185s coming close on a Falcs... Sum-ting-wong there

xm-221 1,803 Posted December 24, 2014 I'd be worried if it was a 60 or 70 series, unless you're throwing it around a race track you'll be ok.
unfamilia 1,938 Posted December 25, 2014 That's my thoughts and it's at the top of the cycle. Most of the deformation would be where Meets the road under cornering etc. Looking at shorter spring too should lift perch 1 to 2 inches from where is now. That would fix that issue. xm-221 1,803 Posted December 25, 2014 You'd be surprised at what amount of deflection you do get at the top of the tyre. I checked all this out with Andrew at ROH Adelaide when we were looking at a 19x10 rim on an XD. His technical findings were the lower the side wall ratio the less deflection you'll get at the top. 1 XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
