ZC-Cruiser 0 Posted August 14, 2014 Does anyone know if a ZL Fairlane fuel tank will fit into an XD Sedan? We are fitting engine etc from an XG into the XD and I reckon the ZL tank will solve the fuel pump problem if it will fit in there.

clevocortina 1,109 Posted August 14, 2014 Hey man I know I'm late with my response. But it wont fit. I once tried to fit my ZJ fairlane tank into my xd sedan and it wouldn't go. just missed out by an inch or so there a bit longer and the neck wont fit. 1 ZC-Cruiser reacted to this
steve mcqueen 1,796 Posted August 14, 2014 Here's an idea i thought about trying when i was building Goldie's fuel system. Originally i was gonna get some of the boot floor cut out and replace it with a fuel tank from a EF/EL station wagon, that way i kept the spare wheel well and got to run the EFI pump. I never ended up going that way i just now use a Bosch 044 external pump but food for thought. 4 XTREME KARTS XF, revhead, ZC-Cruiser and 1 other reacted to this

Thanks Steve - I just got back onto this project this week after a shed clean up - did you use a surge tank or a lift pump? Or do you just have the 044 installed in the fuel line? steve mcqueen 1,796 Posted August 29, 2014 Thanks Steve - I just got back onto this project this week after a shed clean up - did you use a surge tank or a lift pump? Or do you just have the 044 installed in the fuel line? Yeah just use the 044 in the fuel line. I had a EFI specialist build the fuel system for goldie. The business owner had an old EK Holden ute with late model V6 running gear and he just used the 044 on his to run it so he did the same with mine. Seems to work ok. I reckon the wagon fuel tank would be a pretty basic set up, im not sure why i didn't opt for it but i did think about it.
