Crankshaft Question

Hey guys,

 

Wondering if there is a way to tell if my crank has been grinded before?

 

Would there be a mark somewhere, or do I measure something to find out?

You'll need a micrometer to measure the journals, then compare readings to standard specs.

if you have the bearings look at them. it will have the size on them 010 020 030 or standed STD 4litres do a bearing thats standed +1 thow cranks in 4litres must never stuff up

I can get a micrometer, so I'll do that.

 

Don't have the bearings so can't check them.

 

Anyone know the standard measurement of a 351 Clevo crank?

Mains 2.749"
Rod 2.311"

If you check it with mics i better give a buffer as that one size is just middle size

Mains 2.7484 bottom size 2.7492 top size
Rod 2.3103 bottom 2.3111 top

Usually a regrind is 0.010" at a time, eg: 2.750", then 2.740" etc etc......

 

Metric is around 67.85mm (I think??)  1mm is around 0.040 thou, most bearings, both conrod and mains, are stamped in inches.
