Peteos13 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Hi guys, I'm new here and I was hoping someone could help me sort out a problem I've got. I own a BA XR6T 4 speed auto ute, slightly worked (381rwhp) an it's got an issue. When accelerating at about 3-3500 rpm the acceleration is uneven. Almost like my foot is pushing harder an softer an harder ect. It only happens before boost comes on? The coils an plugs are only 6 months old an I'm pretty sure there's no boost leaks... Any help would be great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
slydog 7,873 Posted March 25, 2014 Detonation or misfiring has similar traits...checked your plugs or anything yet?
351XD_Fairmont 604 Posted March 25, 2014 Check the coil packs mate, I know you said they're new but we had new ones put in and two weeks later it was playing up, found out that we had paid for a full set but only received two new coils and they were the ones that were stuffed again, after that we abused the mechanic and went to the wreckers and got a full set from a wreck, haven't had a problem since, that was nearly two years ago now 1 slydog reacted to this
Peteos13 0 Posted March 25, 2014 Thanks for your help guys... It's not as on off as misfiring. More gentler but annoying. Could the boost solinoid have anything to do with it? Or maybe the fuel pumps not keeping up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gerg 10,871 Posted March 25, 2014 Could be your boost cut coming in. They had some tricky safety measures to stop people just screwing more boost out of them
Stevemack 122 Posted March 26, 2014 Fuel dude, check rail pressure( just pop a guage up under the bonnet and go for a blast. Check that it's not losing pressure. Also check the fuel filter, buggers block easy.
KRUPTOR 929 Posted March 26, 2014 Does the engine light come on or flash when this is happening???If so it's possible the pedal position sensor is at fault.
