LJDB 103 Posted June 23, 2013 Im about to get my car on the road and i was checking the engine number and it looks alittle bit dodgy. The first digits are CG58 does that sound right and theres 12 digits in total. The car is a Te cortina built 8-77 I think its an orginal cortina crossflow because of the dip stick location. Any info would be great, I dont want the RTA to hassle me thinking its a stolen engine. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

gerg 10,871 Posted June 23, 2013 CG was the same prefix as on my Corty engine. Aussie-built Falcons started with "JG". Up until the phase-out of the TF, the blocks were cast with both dipstick pads, the front one drilled for Falcons and both front and rear ones for Cortinas, with the front one plugged with a ball bearing. 1 Mixalis reacted to this Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
