Just swap them all. Rip them all out of the XF and throw them in the bin. Take them all from the XG labeling as you go and fit them all to the XF.

Look at it this way; strip the XF shell and reshell the XG into it. Just fit everything. You will need to anyway for it all to work.

I highly recommend the mgw shifter. Put simply it's fucking awesome! Do a few google and YouTube searches.. I got mine directly through mgw in the states. It's a mustang t45/t5 race shifter.

Nothing wrong with Hondas, they're brilliant cars, I own one.
They've also helped Ford Aus a lot, Alloy Heads on xflows were developed with Honda, and I'm pretty sure they helped Ford with front suspension in e series.

Thanks for the handy info Ando81, and trust me, I can't give it to him any quicker, or I would have already for sure! Lol
Looks like this deal is just getting better!
Fella that's selling it just got a XR6 for his brother, and therefore had to hire a trailer.
So now I'm getting the whole thing delivered (an hour and a half away) for $400 by the look of it.
Can't wait to get stuck in!
Just waiting to chat with anyone that's done this type of swap recently here in Qld and if they had to get it mod plated or anything???

Just been offered a whole XH ute with a T5 in it for $300, only has 168k on the odo and fella said the body is rooted...
I know the bellhousing won't fit a crossflow, but if I found an XF T5 bellhousing, that box would bolt straight on yeah?
Is the diff a straight swap? And is there any worth to dropping the 4.0l engine in later down the track.
The ute is only down the road, and I can strip it there, old mate will get the body scraped.
Does it sound like a good way to go? As I'm on a tight budget at the moment...

My ute has a t5 and a 3.23 diff, they work great together IMO, good take off speed when I want it, and nice low revs at 100/110kms (around the 2,000rpm mark from memory).
A 3.45 would bump that up a bit but wouldn't be too bad i don't imagine.

No other one will bolt straight up.

But, a XF 3spd manual bell housing comes close, you just have to drill one hole and tap it.

Mate I put one of those in a 4.1L xf and i think it only lasted a month or 2. Never did a burnout or anything crazy, and mostly highway kms. Was slowing down to veer off the highway, put her into 3rd at probably 60-80 and accelerated around the slight corner and then BANG, and then a THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP noise in third, shifted to 4th and no problems, then into 5th did the same as 3rd. If fact anything that wasnt 4th was making the noise and the car shake violently! So I had to drive home and up the driveway in 4th I wouldn't even bother putting it in temporarily... hold onto the auto until you get a single-rail at least. There should be heaps about, i've got a few lying around!

Thanks a lot guys, I have been really hoping that was the case.
Just want it to help get the revs down at hwy speeds as I live out bush, so lots of 100kph roads around here.
So just don't go dropping the clutch, and only overtake in 4th, should last a little while yeah.
    Appreciate the input guys.
    Thanks, Jay.

I had a mate that drove one pretty hard wherever he went. Lots of thrashing on gravel roads and it lasted him 3 years behind a 200 cube crossflow. Never did a skid on bitumen though. Would be ok if you nursed it around I think.
