AU XR8 end looks like this.

mate of mine said get the late XF or XG pedal (basically 1988 ute onwards) and an AU V8 cable should fit it. (if you can find one)

as Sparkydave said above, i'd consider a custom cable, they are reasonably priced from memory. and could make An AU V8 cable complete if it's broken, (just get a late pedal and find a way to mount it (think i tek screwed one to the floor once if they mount different)

E series a/c compressor doesn't fit au accessory brackets, to swap to e series accessories won't help either, as the a/c compressor is is still too wide with the e series brackets (e series brackets also require a different timing cover, water pump and balancer than au) as dar as running a/c goes you would need to modify the passenger side rail to clear the pump, but if you aren't going to run a/c you can just use a shorter belt and remove the a/c pump all together

Thanks Tom!

Anyone know of any smaller compressors that would fit, or any other options. Or am I left with modifying the strut tower.

@deankxf @Thom has anyone put an an xg pedal in an xf.

I got my hands on an xg pedal and an AU v8 cable. Pretty sure the cable will just click in.

I thought the XG pedal would bolt straight in as XF and XG are very similar. But the mounting bolts in the firewall are slightly off. Has anyone done this before and what’s the best way to achieve this?

It's not the "correct way" to do it but I've fitted one with self tappers before, if you wanted to do it a bit better than that I've used nutserts and then bolted it in

Yeah I did as Thom did and used tek screws.

Nut sert or riv nuts would be preferable if you can get access to them

@SPArKy_Dave - yes that’s what I was thinking too. @Thom @deankxf did you use any of the existing Mounting bolts?

I was thinking if redrilling or drilling a bigger whole on the pedal.

I don't remember. Possibly one but I basically put the new one in the correct spot and sent it. It was likely a need to drive it to work the next day after the original cable kinked and I wasn't buying another if I already had one that could work

Hi All, just curious for those of you, who have put in a EF diff into an XF what watts link and sway bar did you use, the one from the XF or EF?

I'm going to assume they are the same,

But when I've done the eb diff I would have used the XF bar because I didn't get an EB one with the diff, and the wagon EB diff I fitted to my ute also didn't have a sway bar so it didn't get one (ute doesn't have one)

Confirming they are surprisingly the same :)
