adrianphu123 73 Posted May 9, 2013 Hey guys, need to know what my tailshaft is out of, Diff is off an DC LTD(apparently) but not sure about the tailshaft. I believe it is steel and has a flange type on the pinion end. Are the lengths the same? The LTD being a LWB car, would it be longer? Wanting to know so i can get new unis for it, Part numbers are different for DC and ED. Thanks adrian
Tyler06 266 Posted May 9, 2013 They are different lengths but unis are the same. 1 mcfly94 reacted to this
bear351c 10,273 Posted May 9, 2013 Agreed. +1. All Fairlanes/LTD's are based on the station wagon chassis. So they're longer. Roughly 150 - 180 mm, from memory. But i do drink a bit....... 1 mcfly94 reacted to this
adrianphu123 73 Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks guys, DCs are listed as RUJ-2038R, EDs are listed as K5-13XR. Are they interchangable?
bear351c 10,273 Posted May 9, 2013 Dont think so, I used 2038's on my clevo, before buying a HD tailshaft, but, I reckon the K5-13's are for the aluminium tailshaft. (Not 100%)

adrianphu123 73 Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks for the offer mate but i already have the tailshaft. The K5-13 is listed for steel and aluminium tailshafts but it seems both part numbers are spread over the X series.
