John Willey 0 Posted April 25, 2016 just want to throw this out there to see what people have done for fitting an electric fuel pump into an XF ute, to feed an AU engine. at the moment i'm thinking of fitting an XH fuel tank. does anyone know if this is a direct fit. or any other other ideas are most welcome. (sorry if this is in the wrong topic, didn't know where to put it)
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted April 25, 2016 XG/XH tank should be a bolt in swap. But not sure how you'd keep a working fuel gauge with XF dash.
John Willey 0 Posted April 25, 2016 bugger, didn't know the xg/xh has a different kind of sender.
deankxf 20,380 Posted April 25, 2016 bugger, didn't know the xg/xh has a different kind of sender. the tank is a direct fit(good luck finding a good one.. getting kind of rare now) as mentioned the sender is different. there has been a few ways of getting around this, i cant remember any of the top of My head. there is a member VDO who may be able to help.. name refers to gauge knowledge.. http://www.ozfalcon.com.au/index.php?/user/1149-vdo/ if you can search, there was some mention of a fix recently(this year i am pretty sure)
steve mcqueen 1,796 Posted April 25, 2016 If you do end up just running a after market fuel pump, use an FPE240 bought from Repco or online (online price prolly better) its a heaps quiet pump and works a treat. Put it through a z200 fuel filter.
John Willey 0 Posted April 26, 2016 cool, this is what i was hoping for. the reason i wanted in tank was simply for the noise, so the FPE240 could certainly be an option. i was however looking at setting up for E85.
John Willey 0 Posted April 26, 2016 i think i found the thread you were talking about deankdx. looks like i could fit the xf sender into the xh tank. i have a source for an xh tank so might get it and have a play.
