FORD_MAN 1,026 Posted January 10, 2016 Hi I went to fit my new Melling M250 oil pump up to my crossflow I'm building and found that the dowel for the oil pump drive is to large for the hole in the block, I measured the dowel at 0.519" and the hole in the block around 0.475" & 0.478". After suggestions for what to do with it.
ando76 4,354 Posted January 10, 2016 There should be another smaller dowel in the box. Comes with it and the gasket. Failing that careful removal of the one from your previous pump. Put a drill bit of the right size down the dowel and then u won't crush it as you remove it. They can be a bit tight 1 FORD_MAN reacted to this
FORD_MAN 1,026 Posted January 10, 2016 Sorted, Thanks Ando, the bag came out of the box when I took the pump out and then found the gasket & dowel laying on the floor.
ando76 4,354 Posted January 10, 2016 throw the gasket in the bin. Just use 515 instead. those gaskets are evil 1 Thom reacted to this
