Spac instrument cluster into GL help please

Hi Guys

 

I'm pulling the instrument cluster out of my rusted out spac to fit into my new xf GL. other then the cluster itself is there anything else I'll need to pull out to make it work before the rusty old girl goes to the wreckers?

Oil pressure sender so the oil pressure gauge works

As thunderbolt said.

Its the same as putting a digital dash into a base model XF, plug n play plus oil sender.

 

Oil sender/switch is on the intake side of the motor just back from the coil.

cool thanks, Engines already out of it so hopefully I can figure which wire it is

i think its yellow wire with a black plug (from memory)

So I think I realise I was over thinking this, I literally just need the sender right? The wire would already be there in my new xf connected to a switch and I swap the switch with the sender?

Not sure on the XF, but, there should be a wire there already for the oil pressure idiot light. Just need to swap the oil switch for the oil sender.

Yes, the wire will be the same one you used to have connected to the switch.

Ah now that's alot simpler then what I had in my head cheers

All done, just need to get under the car and swap the oil pressure switch/sender

You can do it through the engine bay - easier underneath if EFI though.

Sender is on the passenger side of block around cyl 5 area.

Some oil pressure gauges on x-flow require the brass extension from block to oil pressure sender to work.
