Stu5766 394 Posted December 10, 2014 Good evening folks. I'm hoping somebody could assist me with some dimensions. I'm trying to find out if the XD station wagons & sedans had the same width between the chassis rails. I'm going to cut the floor out of the boot of my XD sedan & box it in with square tube, then fit a steel fuel tank to enable a twin exhaust to be fitted. Just need to work out if it will be a ute or wagon tank. I've got an engineer that has given the thumbs up to the mod. Just gotta find the bits. Cheers stu. gerg 10,871 Posted December 10, 2014 Wont be a ute one as they sat where the rear footwells would be on a wagon (same floor pan). I think wagons had the same tank dimensions as XC sedans and earlier but are shallower in the top half and have less capacity (65 instead of 80 litres)
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted December 10, 2014 I can measure my tanks side to side and end to end for you, I have both a ute and wagon. Can't measure top to bottom on the wagon though.
Stu5766 394 Posted December 10, 2014 Thanks mr polson. Greg, I know that ute thanks are not as wide, but they are a deeper thank. I may need to use the ute tank if that's all that will fit between the rails.
