Wagon fuel tank dimensions

Good evening folks.

I'm hoping somebody could assist me with some dimensions.

I'm trying to find out if the XD station wagons & sedans had the same width between the chassis rails.

I'm going to cut the floor out of the boot of my XD sedan & box it in with square tube, then fit a steel fuel tank to enable a twin exhaust to be fitted.

Just need to work out if it will be a ute or wagon tank.

I've got an engineer that has given the thumbs up to the mod. Just gotta find the bits.

Wont be a ute one as they sat where the rear footwells would be on a wagon (same floor pan).

 

I think wagons had the same tank dimensions as XC sedans and earlier but are shallower in the top half and have less capacity (65 instead of 80 litres)

I can measure my tanks side to side and end to end for you, I have both a ute and wagon. Can't measure top to bottom on the wagon though.

Greg, I know that ute thanks are not as wide, but they are a deeper thank. I may need to use the ute tank if that's all that will fit between the rails.
