xe1984 64 Posted October 10, 2014 Hey guys I've got an Xe 9 inch diff housing that came with 28 spline axels. One is around 800 mm and the other one Is around 700 mm. I'm just wondering would these sizes be readily available in 31 spline ? Because I have a 31 spline 9 inch diff centre sitting here, or should I have the diff centre changed to 28 spline? What do you guys think is easier, better and cheaper ? Cheers guys
slydog 7,873 Posted October 10, 2014 Ring VPW for a cut to length 31 spline axle set. They come in 28-30-32 inch lengths and you cut to size. You will need a 28" and a 32". Around $500 a pair... http://vpw.com.au/Category/Index/6752 2 xe1984 and XTREME KARTS XF reacted to this
xe1984 64 Posted October 10, 2014 Thanks slydog I might have to get them. Or would it be cheaper convert the centre to 28 spline and have it rebuilt same time.
bear351c 10,273 Posted October 11, 2014 Not sure on the pricing, but for me, I'd keep the 31 spline for strength, and change the axles. 2 slydog and xe1984 reacted to this

slydog 7,873 Posted October 11, 2014 I have twisted 28 splines axles in my 250 ute before the engine got serious...31 spline is what's in there now and they will out live the car I'd reckon. 1 xe1984 reacted to this
fxd351 5 Posted October 17, 2014 I'll vouch for that too, twisting 28 spline all too easy. I'm just waiting for the right time when I can convert my current 9" diff to 31 spline axels. 28s are so cheap though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
