The turbo is pretty damn low.
-
Yep. Will try to remember to add them when I get home I am OS at the moment.
-
Thanks mate. Most expensive parts were the rods, and the v-band flange, but it came with the waste-gate.
-
I never posted my solution. I wanted a low mount log manifold and decided that anyone who thinks they can build a log manifold that is more free flowing than a std. manifold is kidding themselves. Cast Iron to mild steel welds done using CastCraft (55, from memory) and stainless to mild done using Weldalls. All pre-heated and cooled slowly with gas torch.

What makes you rate it Ando? This is not a loaded question by the way?
-
Not a Ford, but with a 4brl, OHC and making 230HP out of a 250 in '69, it's still cool: http://ateupwithmotor.com/model-histories/pontiac-ohc-six-history/3/
-
230HP out of a 302 in an XT GT is gross as well. In any case the actual power figure is only a small part of the story.
-
Glad you liked it. I agree with what you have said.
-
465 is a bit small for that cam (will limit it to 5,250 rpm) It will be gutless regardless of carb at under 3000rpm anyway. A 570 avenger or 600 Holley HP is what I'd run (actually I wouldn't run the 570 but it'd be good). 650 is not needed.

Dizzy driven off the front of the cam? Picture of a 4.6l V8 done like it on the net somewhere. Or make up a belt driven dizzy. Do it man, it'll be cool.

Feck!

I am interested in pics as well. Thinking about some for the XF.

I ended up getting the 0.7 A/R cover to fit (just). Thanks though.

Hi all, Anyone know of a compact 0.6 A/R direct bolt on compressor cover for a GT3582R other than this one: http://www.himni-racing.com/turbochargers/garrett-compressor-housings/garrett-gt3582r-turbo-compressor-housing-compact Regards, Matt

Should have refreshed. Missed some of the later posts. Bigger bang, higher cylinder pressure and increased back pressure = hotter exhaust valve.
-
Turbo combustion temps are higher
-
I agree with Ando's point, given that we do not know the exact application it is important to consider the options. The OP should know all he needs now.
-
Wow, that's a bit aggressive. We were just offering our opinion just like you did
-
I like the idea of wide exhaust seats on turbo and/or LPG motors for longevity. The exhaust flows well anyway.
-
My last crossy ran 12:1 comp for 5 years with used head bolts. So long as the bolts have not been over tightened ever there is no reason for anything to be wrong with them (if steel doesn't yield it does not loose stiffness) unless the threads are shitty. On a nice rebuilt or hipo engine you should swap, but in a re-ringer I would never bother. 4.0ltr motors are torque to yield and need to be replaced.
-
I recommend the same. It'll be a bit of a weapon.
-
Yep, that manifold will not limit me at all. I just want a low mount.
-
Last time I checked Camtech were cheaper than Crow and they will ship the cam to you. Hope your bottom end is good.

I was going to run the 517 before I decided to turbo. Kind if wish I just cammed it.
