LOL Yep me too.If your keen on a full manual but want to use it a bit I'd recommend getting PTC to do you a forward pattern unit so it retains engine braking.Mines works awesome and was cheap for what you get really.
Been lighter you could use a little less convertor and gearing and still run fast. Now to get it sorted before the Ford Forums Nationals so you can use it all weekend.

Its a super mega drag engine rob its never going to go 13s without a bottle
you need at least 200hp to bump 13s in a corty with a stock suspension cause they will not move off the line without slicks

I think if your dad has 1 let alone 2 7AL's and you use something else I'd suggest getting checked for a pulse.Either 7AL and a HVC coil will give you basically a plasma cutter which clearly is better than ANY 6AL could ever dream of.In fact I have a 6AL2 programmable unit here I'd happily swap for the Digital 7
A decent hyd cammed xflow in a corty should run 13's all day long let alone a solid cammed tuff 1 or 1 full of dope. Not hard to do bro just remember it's not all in the engine it's the WHOLE car so it doe's infact cost money to do it right.

Id look at the flexplate 2
Ive had 3 cortys do that. Ive never looked at what caused it andys we upgraded to a c4 mine went a loader and beacon smashed 2 in a few months so we fitted a manual
166hp might not seem that much but a borgy35 even a new one will not take it long andys was a full built box and bumped up stall and it lasted less then a year
Time for a C4 brother and a snif of NOS

It's alive and now moves under its own power three gears of wheel spin with a single legger and only 185 tyres but I still have a massive grin on my face just need to sort out a few things still but up and running

dougie77 reacted to L6=:) in T5 onto 2L Pinto?
That is because you drive like a Nana in your 2L cars, but smash it in 1st and 2nd in your 6 bangers

4cylinder ,cheap ,not a shitty ohc 2.0 litre ,for my money swing a 5 into it and be done with it, the 2,litre oil burning motor might save you money on fuel and rego ,but youl be forever spending on oil and head gaskets

Thanks, as wagoon said all went well apart from some sort of gearbox oil leak car ran strong and felt good, it kind of caught me off guard on the first pass pushed me into the seat it seamed, not sure weather that was from 11 months not driving it or a new more stable seat!!
So 1st run was just a click second gear and coast checkout pass came back then checked everything over then ran;
11.762 @ 115.04
11.749 @ 114.86
11.732 @ 115.08
The car is abit off in the 60' and 330' for my liking but will sort that out it is back halving faster then the old engine already even on that 1st full pass so pleased with that as well.
The fastest the xflow ever did was 114.4mph on the hard cut and never did it again so speed is already up just need to get it off the line quicker and we'll be in the ball park.
Overall pretty happy its, 1 going and 2 turning pretty decent times. Now I just have to go through about 200mb of data logs!!! information overload...
