    BUBBLES! In fuel filter.

Good idea. I know the from section is alright as I've replaced this section but I should check back at the tank end. I would of thought if there was a hole in the diaphragm it would leak out of the breather holes...

    BUBBLES! In fuel filter.

It was second hand Thom. I'm thinking its a problem in the pump. The choofing sound is coming out of the holes in the top which I think are breather holes for the diaphragm. I'll have to look into rebuild kits.

yeah I got it from my old work. The pan that I cooked it in was barely big enough to hold it.

  8. You can buy whole new units mate. You don't replace the rubbers in them. I don't think they're very dear. I haven't bought any in a while. Edit: ton on eBay. About 40 ish.

    diy gas conversion?

Agree with this. I work with hose everyday and your gas hose has a wire braid in it. I see every day on machines with wire braided hose how easy it us for them to rub through on things. At least if they do it its on there head if something goes wrong.

    Switch for thermos

Good idea here. I had a 30 amp circut breaker in mine and it kept cutting out. Switched it out for a 35 amp fuse and haven't had any issues with it since.
  11. Does anyone know where you can get the clips that your bolts go into to hold the front quarter panels on an XE? A few of mine are missing down around the bottom of the panel on the sill. I've had a few break down in that area a few years ago when I replaced a front quarter. Now I've got the panel off the clean a few things up and it'd be a good time to replace the damaged ones too.
  12. Cheers bud I'll check out the bolt shop on Monday and if i'm no good I'll let you know. I'd prefer new ones all round really.
  13. Cheers James I'll check out the local bolt shop in town and see if they have them. If they don't I'm sure they can get them. Failing that I'll check out the wreckers Revhead. Actually I've got a smashed VN in my yard. I might pop out and see if they have the same ones on them... Oh hang on better not cos you cant put commodore parts on a falcon....
  14. Sounds like the handle is about stuffed. Pull the door skin off and have a look on the inside. Sounds like the linkage from the outer handle isn't pulling the latch up enough. I had this happen on mine and manged to get it sorted again but then a week later the ended up breaking. You might be able to adjust it out of it.

    Cleveland oil supply mod

That's a great simple mod Thom. Is that 5/16 or 3/8 Bundy tube? And are they just compression fittings into the block? We sell all that stuff at work so I reckon I'll be doing this mod soon. Good idea.

Yeah they do give a lot better feel. You don't get the expansion of the rubber hose through heavy braking wich gives a lot better feel under the pedal. I price all the hoses for you on Monday and shoot it through to you. $80 dollars is around what we charge for them. I think they're a great addition to a car especially if your going to take it on the track. Great for heat as well.. I did a set for a mates AU fairlane and it made a huge difference on that.

I made these at work Crazy. They work out to about about 80 bucks give or take a few dollars per hose. New rubber ones are about 40 bucks each. These are the ones that I made for the rear of my xe I have a web site through mu supplier of the brake parts that I can look up any pretty much any hose off any car and it tells the me the parts to use and from that I can work out the price. With and E series diff in an X series I think its just a matter of changing the fitting that goes from the diff onto the body from 10 X 1 on Eseries to 3/8 X 24 on X series and make the rest of the E series hoses. Easy done. I've still got to make the front ones for my car yet but they come out at round the same price. If you want me to price them up properly for you I can do that.
