  3. Hey Broken, I don't know if ya read my Outback thread lately but when I fitted mine... there was a clearance issue right at back of the upper A arm..... bottom on the left at the back. I ground mine right back to get proper clearance. Just the outers on both sides. REALLY hard to see but binds there. Easy to suss out. If you cant slide a piece of paper between arm and bearing holders on saddles. ..take off and modify.... like night and day. Im thinking cause the front end was copied from 68-74 Mustang that our upper arms used theirs as a template. Making the inner hole of the upper arm smaller. Anyone got a Mustang arm from the states for comparison? Anyway. .. just a heads up. I thought they were ok when Binding. .. after a clean up... lovely. Jack Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    Holley + Cleveland = Flooding

Sorry mate if your running a mech pump ... maybe its diaphragm is farked.... rev more..... no more fuel. May seem like flooding... had that before. But 4-5 psi is the magic number. Like me. ... you need an inline pressure guage... hehe. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    Holley + Cleveland = Flooding

Ages ago I did a 351 burnout car.... The exact same problem. Had me stumped for a few hours. Just stalled.... pigged around .. on fresh motor. Lol We just downgraded the pump, easier than fitting a return line for the regulator. Think Holley do a blue or red pump for that... just electric box type. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    Holley + Cleveland = Flooding

Fuel pressure too high? Had this on Clevos. 4-5 psi... no more.... or when needle and seat opens it floods whole thing. 7-8psi is all it takes for major flooding. That or float levels too high. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk
  8. I also use the opentracker roller spring perches. I agree with brokens description. Best I can describe is..... without them... drive down road and swing wheel side to side... rolls like a boat. With them.... that is hugely reduced. More precise and rides bumps better. Cost a bit but you buy them once. Jack. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

Efi 2barrel efi kits verse Holley carby.

Im staying tuned too. Personally on a 6 if you want injection.. . Nothing beats ITB's Sound tits... go like wildcats... all injected itb's do. Best even flow. I think these bolt on kits are getting better though. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    XF EFI Fuel problem?

Is fuel reg standard or adjustable? Only overpressure in the fuel rail would do this if fuel return to tank was somehow blocked/ faulty. It is a strange problem mate, not a common one. Just gotta hang in there. When I first got the outback I almost burnt it out of frustration. I would take ecu out of equation then if you tried 4 at least one must be good. These cars can test the patience of the best of them. Quitters have sold cars because of it. Were here because we dont quit. Logically one step at a time. ... you will find it. Have a cuppa , chill for a bit... have a look at it with a fresh perspective after... Oh.... and just cause an afm works at idle....or motor works without it at idle tells you its faulty or wiring to it is.... end of story. Cause plugged in or out it doesnt matter and an air flow meter works on the amount of airflow to work out fuel. As your airflow increases your ratio is wrong.... because the input is wrong. And dont get shirty with us when a qualified mechanic cant even sort it for you youngun.... code reader would of saved him days .... you need to appreciate it could be a few things on these and not so easy without right info. XF EFI Fuel problem?

Mate... just go to a wreckers get a second hand ecu and plug her in. Just make sure its the right one. The workshop manual should give you the numbers for the specific one for your car. Make sure its correct to that and not the obe in car. Its a cheap way to diagnose that problem. Cost ya $50. I know its not a 4.1 but on my 4.0 when the aircon wouldn't work was actually blown high/low idle on ecu. Secondhand ecu..... done. My xfn book only covers carb models. Pre fuel inj model book. XF EFI Fuel problem?

Cool. Be careful with the afm they can be damaged easy. Gotta be along those lines. Sorry I got the oxy sensor wrong but I mostly do 4L ohc stuff. Panko.... hahahahahahahahaha. Sorry Im not perfect. Jack. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    XF EFI Fuel problem?

Need an obd 1 code reader... or see what codes the computer is throwing up, it will tell you of you ask the right way.... Someone here close enough with one to hook one up? If not they are $300. Im thinking temp sender or mass air flow meter is faulty... one controls fuel based on water temp ... other on air flow..... maybe even the oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold... Its sensor based Be most likely culprits. Will have a gander in me workshop manual for xf. Which... by the way is a Nissan XFN ute workshop manual. Ford XF workshop manuals you cant buy new. Jack. efi fuel line

Only need the reg he fitted to suit system.... sure its a regulator inline and not a fuel filter? If theres no return line from it to the fuel tank its not a regulator. Why would you run 2 return lines? Not needed. If both are hooked up then all your fancy stuff and extra pressure means shit because it's all behind a stock regulator at the fuel rail. XF EFI Fuel problem?

Have you changed that air flow meter? Its something like that. Injector leaks dont do that as stated above. Grab a plug.... get out of the shed and put a lighter to it. Catches fire... fuel. If not maybe with thick black smoke maybe you are somehow sucking oil into the intake... oily plugs will be hard to get goin. Sure the mechanic will sort it. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    XF EFI Fuel problem?

Fuel injector leak...????? Bit of crap stuck in a pintel keeping it open be my guess. Set of fuel injectors rekitted is cheap. Or the fuel reg has a broken diaphram... or a broken vac line to it. Making it think it's at wide open throttle Try those. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    Xf Efi problems

Hey Bear try P.E.C. mate. They have just about every sensor- controller you'll need. If I can't find something electrical- electronic I go there. From memory an XG one was $120-130.... so can't be much more than that. Will be a lot cheaper than that repco clown price. Hahaha... what a joke. Good to see ya getting ya crossy going mate. Listen to Dean.... he's onto it. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    TDC and rotor arm position

I dunno whats taking so long. Rocker cover off.... only way to do it properly. Compression on fingers is bollocks, can do that 180 degrees out, easy to make a mistake. Listen to Bear..... everything else is fapp and confusing the issue. Bear is good. Jack. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    central locking switch in armrest

Try some dielectric grease in the switch first....over time they wear thin on the plating the switch moves on or scratch up. The grease will give a moisture free nice contact. Sounds like you narrowed it down... or bad earth at switch. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    central locking switch in armrest

The guys that put in your alarm have somehow messed up or pulled on your loom if you didnt have a prob before.... get em to fix it. Probably using connectors instead of soldering. Look for a bad earth or a wire shorting... but Id get them to do that. Warranty. .. such a lovely word. Could be a simple relay, but sounds like a short. If you had the prob all along then usually a stuck or siezed door actuator or shorting switches. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

    Thom's 4.0l thread

I guess whichever one looks cooler... I polished up my XG one and it looks pretty sweet... bit of a mission though as its plated... Instead of injector upgrade maybe just go xr6 regulator upgrade on either... if you dont need too much more fuel... just forces more fuel in at standard pulse width of injector. Can also run xr6 tune/ecu. Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk

If you get air in the rail off the car they corrode REAL fast.. but mine after 22 years looked really good after all that time on the car. Go Shiney... you know you want to... You must.... the precious demands it..... Sent from my GT-S7583T using Tapatalk
