    Mobil 98 is the best here in NZ. All i use in my coon and my boat. Makes starting a breeze too, always a bonus when on the water. You won't go wrong with Kelfords

    Having been through cam selection and what not with my own kiwi xflow i can say that camtech in aus were great to deal with but import tax etc kills them. I have used a few cams from Kelfords over the years with good results (old starlets and corollas) and am on my second cam from them in my xflow. I recommend emailing kiel@kelfordcams.com and letting him know what your up to. Bloody good bugger and real helpful. I have the old towing/lpg torque cam in the shed, might be a bit weak for your needs though. Good luck with it, most engine shops look at you like you got the pox when you want to spend money on a crossie haha.

    If your not using the trans again just put a nail or pin punch through the back corner of the pan. Tech term is a 'controlled leak'.

    Was told years ago wd40 wasnt designed as a lubricant it's a water dispersant first and foremost. Water Dispersant 40th recipe. Or some such crap lol

    Maintenance is key for sure. Spending a half hour each year packing new grease into the bearings isn't exactly a dealbreaker lol

    Plus one for having a boat ramp routine. Have told lots of customers over the years to wait when they turn up the ramp for things to cool down. Especially when they complain they were only done a year ago. Not so bad on a 2 minute trip to local ramp. Any longer though and rest is best.

  13. Quick question guys, never got around to replacing this wire when i first put the xe electronic dizzy in a decade ago. Could this be causing my tacho not to work? Or barking up the wrong tree?

    Turbos are cheaper and easier to get power from sure. But if we wanted cheap and easy power we wouldnt be in the crossflow section! Lol
  15. While trawling the net for oil specs i found this part number/ratio sheet. Someone might find it interesting. Was a pdf so did a screenshot, if you get drunk and fall over it will make reading it easier

    If you make sure the jack is pointing sideways you cangently go side to side. Have the jack as low as it can go (keeping chassis etc off the ground of course) to reduce the risk of it sliding off. Keeping the front wheels straight with the steering lock helps reduce twist/roll in the body too. Do it at work quite often safe as.

    Will be pretty rough on wheel bearings. If the shed floor is concrete then just roll car back and forth gently on a trolley jack.

    So your going 22 grey for a single rail with 3.45 diff? 25 inch tires? Hadn't thought that far ahead with my setup!

    230/236 cam won the day. Was 2 degrees off being dot to dot. Sorted now though this time next week i should be able to give a review (yeah right plans never work out haha).

    Hi all, giving my motor a freshen up while swapping the auto for a rail. Also swapped from lpg back to petrol and want to ditch the lpg grind cam thats in there at the mo. Whats worked for you guys with engine combo's similar to mine? 30thou 8cc pistons, ported ironhead and redline manifold, 500 holley, xe ignition, balanced etc etc and a 2.92 lsd I live out of town so something with a powerband of 2k up would be great, lots of nice little country roads to play on around here. Was thinking something along the lines of a camtech 528 or crow 650. Lemme hear your thoughts gents

    Yup im saving for a set of heritage 48mm units. Had the cash but bought a boat instead. Hopefully in another year of so i can go efi and hamg with the cool (or crazy) kids for once
