    Shimming rockers

    Falcon XC Crossflow - Dying Oil Pressure

    Still alive crunk. Your link won't work for me, probably operator error at this end. I would fit a manual gauge and check the pressure with that first and foremost. Eliminates the chance of a dodgy sender unit. Triple check all connections in the oil pressure sensor circuit from the sender to the ecu. Once you have verified there actually is an issue, then can proceed to next step.

    My xc is a 6 banger, as said above it is possible once swaybar is dropped/removed. These days i have unrestricted access to the workshop so last bit of engine work i just pulled it out.

    Have done my xc a couple of times in the past. Undo engine mounts, remove swaybar, jack up engine far enough to fit some bits of 2x4 under each engine mount, sump comes out with a bit of a twist and wiggle. Prick of a job tbh.

    Steel cover and roller rockers. No tappy tappy. Only .55 lift though.
  6. For 6 cylinder. Xa xb 3 speed manual bellhousing had hydraulic clutch, center can be opened up 4mm to fit single rail or t5 and have hydraulic clutch as opposed to cable. Use release bearing arm from 3speed bellhousing. Also needs upper rh hole redrilled to mount gearbox. Will add photo of bw35 next time i go outside.

    why rebuild a crossflow?

    One day i will put my xflow on a dyno, hope to get 230-250hp out of it with the 600vs carby. But i have done nothing to fix the rusty body it sits in since my last project thread update. Kids and too many other projects, bikes and boat.

    Gone past the point of crazy money on this side of the ditch mate. People wanting big dollars for worn out blocks etc etc. I would love a nice mild 351, hp per cube sort of deal. But ain't gonna happen. Not nicely anyway.

    Thread dredge. Can anyone confirm the chamber size of the e1 head? Have been looking for e2 but e1s keep popping up.

    I got scorpion rockers and some stepped studs and guideplates from summit. Was far cheaper than the yella terra option, freight out of the states was on par with out of oz too (New Zealander). Since you have swapped to a rail, i recommend ironforce flywheels. Billet and half the weight, literally, of the xf flywheel. Swap your ringgear on and go. I had to drill out the mounting boltholes as i have the older block/crank. Ymmv. And they look great. Sent from my SM-A217F using Tapatalk

    Valve spring tool

    I have not used compressed air in years for doing stem seals. Length of thin poly rope fed through the sparkplug hole. Wind it up to tdc and your sorted. The wind down style clamp above works well but buy a good one as tough springs can open the fingers. Sent from my SM-J330G using Tapatalk

    Distracting myself today i started thinking about the head on the crossie, and the idea of going alloy for better manifold choice. 48cc chambers in trusty ironhead. From what i can tell the nearest alloy head with similar chamber size is the d head at 48-51cc depending on what website i read off. All you guru's out there who know better than me feel free to correct me please, or let me know your ideas. Also does anyone have a link to a calculator to work out hp/torque guestimates?     So...avgas ftw? Haha Seriously though thanks for the info, not above doing whatever work is necessary. But i am going to try the adaptor and 4barrel route first. End goal is still efi itb's.     Opinions. Spacer on the manifold side of the adapter to create more airspeed (venturi effect), or carb side? Ordering both spacers and adapter from summit after the wedding. Will mix and match to see what works best. Sent from my SM-J330G using Tapatalk

    Holry sheet batman! Even as a guestimate i would have been happy with 200. Will take it with a grain of salt however lol. I have worked CR as 10.8 but was complete guess as to headgasket thickness, and not quite zero deck height. Main reason to go alloy head is for a decent 4 barrel manifold, however the redline 2barrel one on there at the moment has done the job for a decade. Could get a redline ironhead 4barrel and tidy it up i suppose. 570 street avenger should do the trick until i save for jenvey itbs (unlikely dream haha). Sent from my SM-J330G using Tapatalk

    Cheers guys, It was one of the threads on here i found that said the D heads were 48ish. My iron is 48cc chambers with 8cc dish pistons so to keep similar CR without bumping it too high i want to find a head around there too. Sent from my SM-J330G using Tapatalk
