Chuck1954 5 Posted September 5, 2022 Have recently bought 1995 XG panel van and bought under bonnet insulation pad from known manufacturer. Initial ad showed stock picture for XF (Pic1). When arrived noted that my bonnet is like Pic2 (that is another 1995 XG advertised in Just cars) The ad said fits all years which it doesn't you have to cut out 3 areas to allow pad to drop into the 3 small brackets indicated in Pic2 . Also of course there is no hole to fit centre retaining clip in. Lots of to and fro ( another matter) but mainly manufacturer stated have sold lots never had any complaints. Am I and the people who have had 1995 XGs for sale as I can find several others that are similar, the only people with this (unique) bonnet. Did the design change from the XF to XG and/or did the XG design change during its 3 year run.

Chuck1954 5 Posted September 6, 2022 I struggled with your last comment, what did you mean by retrofitted? They originally had an underfelt, had to take old one off because it was hanging down in tatters.

Im surprised it's still made for an XF/XG (might fit XD XE even )
Chuck1954 5 Posted September 7, 2022 Well as I've been trying to say it probably isn't made for XG as the one that fits XF doesn't fit the XG. Why fit the underfelt, probably because whole panel van is a big reverb chamber, any reduction in noise is appreciated. 1 deankxf reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,910 Posted September 7, 2022 Up to March 1993 at least, all the XF's (and maybe very early XG's) used the same XF bonnet and insulation. Part numbers - XF-16612-A - Hood XF-16738-A - Insulator Hood Sound At least some of the XG's (later ones or possibly all) had EDC part numbers - EDC-16612-A - Hood EDC-16738-A - Insulator Hood Sound I have a New Old Stock XG Insulator, so can 100% confirm they are different to XF. 2 roKWiz and deankxf reacted to this
