Big Blue 17 Posted May 12, 2022 As the floor pan is ok other than some repairs on the inner sill, what was the original black seam sealer they used? I wanted to source something that would blend in without stripping the entire floor pan. It looks like a black tar that a bush has been pushed into and slopped on. 2redrovers 21,392 Posted May 12, 2022 Bitumen based seam sealer. Like you said, it looks like tar because basically it is. I'm sure it has various things in it but the same black goop that seals the cracks in the road, got turned into sheets for deadener, or spray for stone guard and noise reduction, or gooped through a squeezy nozzle for seams. It's the cheap kind that auto shops will carry or check with your paint supplier.
