Butcha 111 Posted May 4, 2013 Hi guys, currently in the process doing my engine bay in the xe, and was thinking of welding the plate that the bump stop mounts to to the body, any one done this and can the spring be removed with it still in place? cheers
hendrixhc 10,921 Posted May 4, 2013 I did read on Xfalcon a long time ago that someone had done that. Not sure about removing the spring afterwards. i would recon it would be more difficult cause you would have to remove the lower control arm to do it. hendrixhc 10,921 Posted May 4, 2013 NIce set of polished stainless bolts look good there anyways!
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted May 4, 2013 I never removed that plate to get my springs in or out... That's in two XF utes (one swapping springs and one just removing). Using the external type compressors too (not internal ones)
Mikgan 32 Posted May 4, 2013 I've never removed the plates to swap my springs, I tired but the bolts were jammed so I just made do, have to compress the more than you would otherwise have to but it's nothing special.
