Nath 1,975 Posted April 24, 2015 Hey guys, the old man rang me up last night and says the windscreen wipers have clapped out on his BA Wagon. He says the motor seems to operate fine but the actual arms don't move, and thinks it could be a problem with the linkage or something. New ones are pretty expensive so if we can't fix it it's off to the wreckers for a new assembly. Anyone know if there's a common issue/easy fix for this? SPArKy_Dave 8,895 Posted April 24, 2015 Be sure to Super Clean the windscreen too. Don't underestimate the luxury and safety, afforded by slick glass. (tried to come up with a sexual pun, but failed ) Slick glass, will bead the water, dramatically improving wet weather vision and make it easy for the windscreen wipers to glide over the surface - allowing them to work easier and faster, with less stress on moving parts. 1 Nath reacted to this

Haha that's awesome. Definately gonna happen on both our cars one weekend. I'll hit up the wreckers for a new assembly then. Cheers Dave.

Nath 1,975 Posted July 10, 2015 So we replaced the whole unit and he's still having dramas. The arms work but when you turn them off don't return back to the bottom position, they just get stuck. Is this a crappy unit or could something else be causing this?
