Advice on Edelbrock to Cleveland fitting and bolts

Recommended Posts

So i have pulled the inlet manifold off the clevo and am going to fit it back on but have the same issue as before where the two thinner bolts where the choke stove would have been fitted are to long.

I have tried 2 different bolt kits and used the original bolts off the spare 302 and get the same result each time.

Has anybody encountered this?

I can make up a half inch thick spacer if need be.

My concern is if i put the longer bolts through far enough they get awfully close to the push rods.

Any help appreciated.

I think it's because on the US models, that stove was part of a carby spacer that included an EGR port, which was clamped by those longer bolts. A bolt spacer would be fine but any bolt place should stock those 5/16"UNC bolts in any length you want. I take it the manifold's an air gap without the exhaust crossover?

Thanks for the replies guys. i ended up carving up a half inch thick block of ally and making a spacer.

I must say fitting the inlet manifold would have to be the biggest cunt of a job.
