Alternator Belt

Recommended Posts

Hey bam,

I would think "it cant be done"?

Assuming its on a 4.1 crossy, as you know the water pump pulley is in there

and if you run a short belt the pulley is gonna fowl on the top of the belt.

Is it a standard 4.1 with air and steer your chasing a belt for?

4.1 crossy but far from standard.

Water pump pulley has been cut and shut.

No power steering and yes I know car parks are gonna suck haha

Pretty sure a few blokes on here with hot crossies only run a belt from balancer to Alt. Just need to know what belt fits

If he is using a electric water pump he will be fine.I run a modded Corty alt bracket a 850ish belt from memory of if using XF style bracket I was running 900 units but with modded alt housing. You would have to think 950 would be close no mods.

There is but you have to measure to find out :) Remember string measurement will be short as the belt rides on the edges towards the top not down deep in the pullys like string will. Can I suggest you sacrifice a old belt cut it and fit it around the set up and cut it to suit/fit as tight as possible then get a belt maybe 25mm shorter.
