RAWDEAL 222 Posted April 21, 2014 so i bought a 5.0 nc, the ac clutch had shit itself , so i got the car cheap i was wondering how these work? i assume the magnet pulls the front onto the pulley , it locks , pump turns ? can i buy a clutch assembly for these ? couldn't really be fucked changing the pump over (even know i do have another one handy)
SLO247 1,713 Posted April 21, 2014 Thats how it works. Theres a coil mounted under the pulley that pulls it on. I've swapped over a coil/pulley/clutch on one. Bit annoying but can be done. You will want good circlip pliers.

Swapped over the pulley/clutch shimmed it up, seems legit now. hopefully it all works as it should ill order bearings for the old one next week, then ill just fix the other one which i stole the pulley off of gotta make sure that the gap is correct , i dont know exactly what it should be though?
