XFute-1JZsoarer 140 Posted March 31, 2014 Hey guys, was just after some info on mod plate's. Im about to embark on a 93 model 4 litre conversion into my 88 XF ute, and i was hoping to find someone else here in Qld (or anywhere really) that had recently had this conversion done or road worthied? I will be using an entire stock XG driveline, T5 and 3.23 LSD, with only 2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust (i still need to measure it) being added, no extractors though. Being that the 2 different model utes are basically still the same car (and nothing will be cut or welded to fit the conversion), i dont see why it would need a plate, as even the OHC's emissions would have to be better than the carbied crossflows... Did anyone else need to mod plate or engineer this conversion, as im sure plenty others have done it? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jay. gerg 10,871 Posted April 3, 2014 Sorry mate, dunno about QLD but in NSW you'd need an engineer's for sure. 1 XFute-1JZsoarer reacted to this
XFute-1JZsoarer 140 Posted April 3, 2014 True, ah well, guess it's gotta get mod plated too. At least it's only $80-$120 to get a blue mod plate on from what I've seen.
XFute-1JZsoarer 140 Posted April 16, 2014 Found a fella that will do mod plates in Brisbane, but he quoted me $150 for inspection, then $60 for each code he puts on. Does this sound a little too pricey to anyone else, I ask because $140 is the highest I've seen anyone pay, and others were saying that was too much...
