He said some lines, T pieces and that vacuum canister. Actually any one got an exploded view of an XF showing the vacuum lines under the bonnet..?

OK, so its been gassed, the vacuum is holding, but apparently half of the lines are missing and a VACUUM canister is missing..SO I have to find these things geez..

With the engine having to be pulled out so the BAY could be painted, there would be no gas in there..so ill see what happens today..

Guys is it possible to fit ROLLER ROCKERS TO AN XF EFI ENGINE/HEAD....if so is there a NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE, NOT ONLY IN PERFORMANCE, BUT ECONOMY. Cheers

Got the CAM, and the DOUBLE VALVE SPRINGS, so it shouldnt be a problem..

After having a new dash installed in my XF, I found i only had PARK LIGHTS no HORN, and the Indicators worked some time. Went to the AUTO ELEC and he told me I needed a new/another indicator/ wiper assembly.. Fitted and works great now....$30 for the part, $ 95 to fit...

No it wasn,t a standard cam, done by TIGHE...Also he only told me after it was all done and back in the car...

Can some one explain, why would you fit DOUBLE valve springs. What is the benefit if any..?..Thanks.

That was done a FEW years ago, he use to be at Chermside, Had it changed back, IMMEDIATE difference..

He was, he wanted my GENIE extractors as well, said HURRICANE were better, I made him put them back on..

The reason i am asking, is that, i had double valve springs on, I had the rockers all changed and the MECHANIC, took them off and replaced with NEW single ones, He said " you will never bounce these"..However I found that by the time i got to 1/2 way on the accelerator pedal, the car/ENGINE just ran out of breath, AND i know there is heaps more it could do...

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, But, how do you guys and gals, protect your car from the Elements, without a CARPORT or GARAGE. Just been to CLARK RUBBER, BUNNINGS , nothing, SUPERCHEAP had something but for $250.00 bucks, it looks too flimsy and would blow away...any suggestions ??..Is there a place that actually caters for this sort of thing?

Having a problem with my 87 XF EFI ENGINE. It starts, idles, but just a little rich. Will REV, However as you drive the car, and accelerate it carries on like crap, it does not want to go. Fuel pump is OK..Pressure is OK Changed the FM and the EEC1V, As a matter of fact, the car will run, WITHOUT the AFM...At a lost where to look now, new plugs, new leads. It just sends A LOT of fuel in ...Any help would be appreciated..The ENGINE is perfect...TFI Is OK...Why would it be sending so much fuel in under LOAD/ACCELERATION??

I put another $25.00 in 98 ron in the old girl and took her for another run, the missing seems to be gone, and the idling is at about 900 rpm. So maybe it needs a good long run for the COMPUTER to LEARN..tell you what, I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE OTHER 2 FORDS since I got this back..lol..By the way guys, I need to CLEAN my headlights...heard about tooth paste and 1200 sand paper..or is there a better way of doing this??

Ok, went and had a look at the accelerator STOP, near the throttle body and there is a ADJUSTMENT SCREW there, wound that back a bit, opened the AIR screw on the throttle body and its at around the 1000 rpm mark, went and put 25 dollars in of 98 ron...took it for a 15 min drive and it seems ok...however when I " GET UP IT"...there is a definite miss, so something is still not right...However ITS A LOT BETTER....

Thanks for that bit of info CRAZY 2287, For all I know, the KNOCK SENSOR was never hooked up. I only saw 1 SCREW on the throttle body, did not know there were 2.I will have another look. These after market COMPUTER,S...Whom sells them and are they up here in QUEENSLAND/BRISBANE?
