  1. The cross flow I’m putting in my pano has been sitting idle for a while so I’m think ing of dropping some oil down the bores just to make sure everything is staying nice and loose.

    What’s best to use?

I’ve heard diesel and light machine oil can be used.a20590f5d19b6bd76e6f36e3c47e0977.jpg

I use and recommend Engine Engineering at Rocklea. I send my stuff 1800kilometres to them.  Why? Cause they are good. They treat x flows with respect, something other machine shops struggle to do.

Damn, they're just along the road from my work, never even knew they were there haha

  3. Build pretty much anything and you will have a decent motor, with cost being the only real deciding factor.

for most people doing mild street cars then a Crossy would be down the list a bit. Easier and cheaper to run a Barra these days. Even a n/a Barra would see a xdef into the 13s quite easily.

If my Crossy turns out to be a disappointment when it goes in my van then il most likely go Barra. Ls would be nice, but rego is a killer on v8s up here,

  4. Falcon wheels are generally referred to as being pre-au fitment and post-au fitment.

pre au is 0- +6, so the mounting face of the wheel is basically in the centre of the rims width. Post-au is +36, so the mounting face is 36mm closer to the outside edge of the rim.

All five stud Falcons are 5x114.3 pcd.

  5. I've leant from real life bitter experience.... Please don't just go screwing this thing in and running it straight up. Pull it down, check everything, make sure it's clean, use decent gaskets. You can't trust other people's judgement or standard of work. Treat it as an assembled collection of parts, not a ready-to-run engine.

Nah, il be getting an engine stand and going through replacing all the stuff that's a pain to do once it's in the car.
This won't be a quick slap together by any means.
I now need to source a manual conversion kit, pull my old motor and paint the bay plus the new engine needs to change colour too.

Soooooo anyone wanna buy a borgie five speed lol?37ad986474097f15301de655d1f2ddc4.jpg
