Mikgan 32 Posted April 21, 2013 Hey guys, I've been struggling with low voltage issues for a while now, the alternator is brand new and seems to be doing the right thing but if I'm at a set of lights with the thermos on, indicator on and the foot on the brake then it's only a matter of time until it turns off. It starts straight back up so I don't believe it to be a battery problem (and its a new boat battery to, big sucker). Not sure if its that same problem but over 100km/h it sometimes stumbles and seems to suffer the same issue, it'll cut out but will fire straight back up, WTF? I know people say "hmm thermos, theres your problem, go with a clutch fan" aside from the fact that when the blower goes on that wont fly, I have an old magna that has thermos, I can run at night with EVERYTHING on and it doesn't miss a beat, so something is wrong here, where to start? Or is this one of those drive it to an auto elec and just pay to get it sorted moments?
n00bus m@x1mus 465 Posted April 21, 2013 Look at your coil mate, see if u can replicate the same symptoms in your shed while monitoring what voltage is at your + terminal on the coil. And is this carb or efi?
Mikgan 32 Posted April 21, 2013 It's a carb and running an ICE ignition.
