Exdee 6 Posted April 14, 2013 I've just converted from 6cyl with Borg Warner, to a 302c c4 in my xd. The 302 came out of a zk fairy that was running duel fuel. The problem is it has no spark when cranking, and as soon as the key is let back to run, it fires over. I have noticed the coil has a resistor on it, would this be the issue? revhead 1,392 Posted April 14, 2013 to circumvent all of this ,run a wire from the positive side of the battery to the positive side of the coil ,then hit the key this will make it run, this is like a check to see if the coil and module are working, then to stop motor pull wire off of battery
Exdee 6 Posted April 14, 2013 Yeh it runs fine with a hot wire. It is starting, just when it flicks back to the run position. Should I try swapping over to a coil with no ballast resistor?
revhead 1,392 Posted April 14, 2013 balast resistor should be hooked up to the positive side of the coil, all its doing is lowering thew volts, try unpluging the resistor and pluging straight into the coil,
