Panko 2,482 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi Guys, I'm in the process of replacing the fan belts on my XF, but i am stuck on the a/c compressor. at the moment i can't get it undone to get the belt lose enough to remove. is it on a slide arrangement like the alternator and power steering pump? or does it need to be unbolted completely to slacken it off? Banno 479 Posted May 20, 2015 Have you got under the car and and wound the tensioner off. Even with hinge bolts slacken the compressor wont move till the tensioner is wound out.
