abrogard 0 Posted August 9, 2014 My XY wipers seem to have given up. I've googled a bit but come up with nothing in the way of clues about troubleshooting or possible/probable breaks. Seems they just give up after a while and pulling them apart and cleaning them fixes it. That's the best I've been able to come up with. A mate suggested maybe an XF motor would fit or could be made to fit. Wonder if there's any knowledge about this on this forum? Be good if I could fix it.... Trev Vaa 1,185 Posted August 9, 2014 are you cleaning contacts etc? or just regreasing it? if you're having to clean the contacts just send yours in for a reco, the protective coating will have worn off and electrical corrosion will be occuring. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
abrogard 0 Posted August 9, 2014 I didn't write that last post very well. Looks a bit like I'm saying I'm fixing mine and it keeps coming unfixed. No. Mine is broken and I can't fix it. What I was saying I've heard they can be fixed just by pulling them apart and cleaning the inside. I read a thread about reconditioning them and all they did was pull it apart, clean it - get the can electroplated - and put it back together.
