xdfairmont79 135 Posted March 25, 2014 hey guys, the datsun had protection strips on it, they have all fallen off and left the double sided tape and residue where they once resided. how do i get it off without damaging the paint and scratching it? i cant get the protection strip stuff anymore either so i cant put them back on. it looks beter without them anyway. thanks! xdfairmont79 135 Posted March 25, 2014 yea i think ill get a razor blade and pick it up carefully and peel it off it that will work.. but yea i have some wax and grease remover. il give it a try it might unstick the glue and the tape will fall off... VDO 124 Posted March 25, 2014 Use a hair dryer or a heat gun on lowest setting and heat the residual tape thoroughly and use a PLASTIC spatula/scraper to push them off. Clean up any left over gum with wax and grease remover. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
