I’ve got a 289 Windsor block that I’m putting edelbrock 5023 heads on. The instructions say to drill a 1/8” hole into the block for steam holes as they are in a different location on the new heads. Is this something that I can do myself or is it a job for a machine shop?

Hey guys, so getting around to dropping my Windsor in the Corty (very slowly) & was playing with the pile of parts I have. Looks like the Flywheel I have is a 6cyl one. So Can you run a 6cyl Flywheel on a Windsor? Looks like it will bolt up & I have the clutch & all that just thought Id ask you guys before I bolt it up. Long story but the guys who built the engine fucked me around endlessly so I recently took it back. I have asked them as I was told it had all been balanced. Waiting for a reply. Also, I'm no expert but this flywheel doesn't even look machined to me. What do u guys reckon? Cheers.

Hi all I read an article online, about a 418 inch stroker 351 Windsor combo, 670 hp, pump fuel, easy to build at home ect. 8k in parts u.s. Between my dads 35 years of mechanical experience and my enthusiasm we could build the whole thing in the shed. My question is, would it be value for money in Australian dollars or would I be better doing a clevo combo? I know this sort of horsepower cost around 22 grand at an engine shop. so 8 grand and a whole heap of elbow grease sounds far better to me, this engine will be for my xr project so Windsor will be kinda cool. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0702phr_budget_418ci_windsor/
