Its points and I checked the ballast already.one of the reasons I usually get elec ignition. Proving difficult for iron head 4.1. Im not newbie to cars but im no expert either. Usually need to be shown then im all good after that. Usually play with datsuns. This is my first non datsun adventure. Might be fuel related too as I put 15lt in the other day and now theres fuel in tank but not filter. Filter was full the other day when trying. The joys of petrol. I found lpg so much easier lol.

So just a jumer wire from starter 12v post to coil pos. Cant be that easy lol

Can any one pm me a way to bypass the ignition switch. Need to move the car out of car port for the mrs.

Yep got 12v from the old idle solenoid to both the solenoid and choke. Initallity I wired it to pos on the coil but I thought that pos might only get power at ignition key position. Nope wont keep running if I keep on the petrol

Strange worked fine before motor swap. I was tracing wiring etc trying to see I connected it all ok as I labeled all hoses and wiring to ensure I put it all back same places.

Nah got a replacement 4.1 ends up with forged pistons crow cam dual timing chain ported head and match ported holey inlet manifold amd larger valves with upgraded springs and rockers

Can you install elec dizzy from later 6ers into the iron head cross flows? Looking for one for my xd. Nice project for charity bash too.

My heater fan isnt working in my xd now. As my car has ac I read the wiring diagrams and saw heater is on a seperate fusible link now. I have checked power from link and fuse box. Also on passenger side foot well. I can turn ac on and it works but not the fan. Are the fan motors common in not working? What wires can I hook up to hard wire the motor to test it. Cheers

Thanks gerg. Im in melbourne. If I could freight them through ego.com.au I would take em in a heart beat. Bear im aware of taking them to be reset. Was looking for something more cost effective and bolt in solution. Car hasnt even cost me 1k yet but will break that on weekend buying another carby. So spending couple hundred currently cant be justified. Ive played with lowering leaves before but not raising or stiffening them

I use 3 bond on the gasket so it sticks to the cover side then add tge gasket. Smear of clean oil lightly on other side of gasket and put in place with light pressure on the bolts. Works a treat on my datsun and I tried all gaskets and silicon s.
