I had stright lpg on my old datsun race car. ... it was pretty quick and cheap. 2min 23 fastest lap around phillip island out of a 1.6lt. Wondering how the iron heads react to straight lpg. Thinking of ditching petrol in it for straight lpg. My lpg guy reckons the later alloy heads were better on lpg (not the crappy first series alloy heads). Many iron heads on lpg round here?

Yeah ive cleaned it twice with acetone twice already. No good reads full or just off full. Only has one round orriface and dont have a spare to swap even for test.

I use a 28ah agm deep cycle as my battery in my 4 cyl datsun. Its only used occasionally and never had an issue in 5 years. It's great to leave it for weeks on end and jump in and it cranks and starts straight away. Never had that luxury with a lead battery. Plan on setting a 2nd battery up in my wagon. Do you have a wiring diagram of your relay set up. Sounds way better than the kits

All fixed. Ended up being faulty me. Dont know how I missed a worn dizzy cap center electrode.

Yeah have traced gregories diagram to car. Cant find fault anywhere. Replaced coil starter leads plugs points still nothing. Can only think wires or ignition switch now

Well havent tried it yet but lol the neg spade terminal was missing off the starter I used. Wired up pink brown to pos and red (pink) blue to neg. Will try tomorrow. Damn power failure last night couldnt see a thing

Well swapped in another iron head 4.1 into my xd. Put a different manifold and put an xf 34adm webber on as the stromberg chokes more than england in the ashes. I turn the key and it fires to life. Let go of ignition key it dies. I made a video but waiting for photochuckit to upload it... slow since upgraded app

Just went looked both terminals go to pos post of starter solenoid

There are 2 wires on starter. I thought I labeled them right to replace. Other wise wiring diagram doesnt show what color wire on pos or neg side of coil tabs. Thanks for the response

Well got fuel up to filter and pumping into carby no issues. No spark out of coil and when I turn the ignition key to start when it returns to the on position starter still cranking. Couldn't find my test light so im left scratching myhead (or other parts) must be the ignition switch but how do I bypass that to test . Tried another coil same deal.

So a facett pump is fine in the engine bay. I thought better in the rear as they push better than they pull fuel.

Why???? Efi would be more power and drive ability wouldnt it? Put I do love the sound of carbies on full song too

Got heaps of spark too. Will check gap but quit smoking years ago. Doubt durrie packs are as thick as used to be.

Well fuel filter was dry. Drained tank (most of it) pulled it out. Dropped it and spilt about 5 lt of it and drained past the neighbour's. I hosed area down and added car wash to disapate the spill. Damn tank has what looks like 2cm mud in it. Cleaning out now with washing liquid and water then will use acetone to rinse. Fuel gauge sender was blocked with mud too even though cleaned 4 weeks ago with acetone. Hope pump not stuffed but cleared out lines now so can only test. Mrs not happy. 5lt stank out house carport and street
