Is the shifter rod measurement you gave me for the final shortened version? (470mm)

From what I can tell from pics, the sedan is shorter and includes the recess for the bumper. The ute and van panels are longer but stop at the dropped edge to the bumper, not including the corner. Ute Sedan Wagon

Looks nice and shiny[emoji108] Dopey me forgot to measure it, so if you're able at some point to measure the gearbox casing that would be great. That way I have a reference measurement for the jig if I don't have a giant cast iron chunk bolted to it.

It's usually diluted with water for this, not sure on the ratio but I thought it was something like 10:1 sort of thing. It's definitely reusable over and over.

A cheap molasses tank would be one of the plastic water/chemical tanks that hold a cubic metre. Would fit a couple blocks in at the same time. If you cut the top off in the right way and you have a lid to cut down evaporation.

I don't know what yours are like but the bars are fairly flimsy in comparison to other cars. They have flexed while I used them as grip to push the car around the shop. If they are genuine and not replacement ones, they would be very easy to reco and straighten.

My front has the full width bar but I'd be thinking it's a safe bet they're the same small bumpers as used on the fronts too. If not, they wouldn't take much effort to tweak the shape to fit. Not exactly heavy duty steel.

We could have but I don't think it would have helped much. I need it for the plug holes in the extensions though. There's the other one I got but it needs some repair and a belt before it's operating.

For a lot of situations it is possible to bend the hinge arms to get the alignment. This may involve some heat but I've used an F shaped lever to give you more power to bend the arms

Is that the pick up point at the front? It looks like a bolt through the rail to a link for the cradle? I've got a guess for what you're thinking about but maybe I'll just wait and see if I got it right

I saw that post too, body work is done really well but being vr vs inside is just a big let down. Originally a steel dash so there was ample opportunity to create something really interesting.

I know that cutting laminated stuff is much easier than toughened, I don't know what side glass is for that era as it possibly depends on the car. In a rough mock up the Subaru seems a very easy fit. Even seems like it has the same angle on the pillar to a hatchback. That could be way off though because I didn't chase measurements for the Subaru. There's even the touring version that can use the roof bump for that surfer look.
