I haven't had a chance to do this properly in photochop but this was something I was playing with last night... It's a quick and dirty mock up done in an app on my phone, very limited on what I can do with it but it gives you an idea of what I'm leaning towards. Still not a fan of those bubble arches so they won't be on my van. I'm thinking more of a slight flare or pump like I did on Ron's torana hatch.

Yeah the second one is pretty easy to copy. The first one I posted isn't a straight fold from front to back so it would take more cut and weld but definitely could make something similar.

That one in this link isn't the exact same part as the one I mentioned above, it's straight along its length but the first one is shaped in width. I can make both of them, the straight one would be fairly simple. The one i linked seemed good value because it's made in 1.6mm which I'd have to piece together rather than fold it, 1.6 would make a difference to the stiffness of the floor big time.

Yeah I liked that look too, mine will still have rear windows though. The red is brighter than I'd like, you can see the difference here I think the lighter one on the right is brigade and my darker on the left is supposed to be Leyland tartan. I say supposed to be because I haven't found that colour listed elsewhere, just what the previous owner told me he had it done in.

I'm considering matching the red from my first rover It looks pinkish in that shot but it's not. Thought about that with a simple gold pinstripe down the side. If I got adventurous could use the large escort side stripes but that might be a bit over the top for me.

Definitely not mystic, that colour is ridiculous expensive (or at least it used to be, very pearly). No to velvet, if I went a dark colour it would be a dark smoke green metallic that doesn't have a name because it only exists in my head. Can't recall the last time I saw the seduce on a car but from memory it's too got too much pink in it.

Not bothered at how rusty it is, this is also a teaching exercise for the forum. This car has many of the common problems that you guys may encounter when buying projects and if you know how to fix them then scary cars won't be as scary any more. Oh and no, not any more. It's left my shop, there won't be any more updates on that one from me.

Cool, I'll keep that one in mind. They would look nice with the colour combo I'm contemplating. As for that brown, I know which one you're talking about but I'm not a brown fan.. I don't even like the root beer colour that is all the rage for kustoms. I knew about the tunnel and that doesn't bother me to fix. Probably have to fix the floors anyway. If you want your tunnel enlarged *snickers*, no problem. Oh and my mistake on the auto, meant in the vans didn't know about the cars. Pinto probably wouldn't happen especially with that list. If I need to do that much reshaping to make a motor fit it would likely be for a modern one.

I like that look but I'd lean away from the brigade red. Bit too bright for me but darken it up a few shades like the other red van and I could do it. I am listing to the "old school" style.

These days if a paint has any kind of dazzle to it you can just about guarantee its got some sort of pearl in it. The boys used to hate when white Honda and Toyota turned up for repairs, those bastards are three layer pearls even though they just look white.

Been trolling google images just looking at colours and deciding we don't like most of them... Some possibilities are variations of... Reds seem agreeable ^^^^that may be too bright for me in real life. She said she likes one of the Ford reds, might be barossa Because it was similar to this cortina colour (I like it but I'm not doing a candy type colour.. I'm just not that insane) Mazda soul red would be close to it but no way José

It's a 1300, but it will do for starters. The two things about the mk1 though... They didn't get the 2L so that would mean paperwork and if I have to jump hoops I'd probably do something like the v6 or a modern 4cyl instead. Secondly, they didn't get an auto. So the question is, the mk2 auto.. does it bolt up to the mk1 1300?
