Nice build man. This will be s very cool little car when done. The Red with black trim and sunroof is going to be nuts.
-
Yep,Mcguires endurance or mothers do one the same, both last a fair while.
-
Yeah for old falcons man, only the manufacturers can get away with that.

No boosted 8s in vic Chaise.

Ash did dynomat and felt in my f100, biggest difference in road noise ever.i did just dynomat In the xd and it was nowhere near as effective.

The el2s ran the explorer au manifold stock, the gains fitting the gt type inlet instead of the au one would be just about non existent. Buy a later xr8 and sell the manifold.
-
Au had the same airbag.

How come it doesn't need to be engineered?
-
Says it all really, trace every wire, rejoin any that are cut. Not that hard mate.

Each to there own, always good to have more than 1 point of view. I'm not a big fan of dual fuel, usually fitted with God knows what by God knows who and wired by the apprentice (if your lucky). When the rebate came in every cunt went for the easy money fitting gas kits wether they knew what they are doing or not. While the Ford stuff my not be the easiest to fiddle with (if that's your thing) at least there's a better than fair chance it was done right in the first place.

There's a few guys on aff with turbo ones, they must be tuning them. The convertors last 200000 odd ks, $350 every couple of hundred thousand isn't a big deal in my book. Each to there own, I know some guys shit there pants at the site of an egas falcon,i don't. I reckon by modern car standards they are simple and reliable.
-
You can get reco'd convertors on eBay now for $350, they take around 30 minutes to fit. I've had a few egas falcons as dailys and never had a problem, I've replaced convertors on some that went on the car yard but never on my own personal cars. I always try and get gas where I know it's a good mix though.

Similar looking to my blue point one, that gets under everything I have.

No problems with rego on vic putting a v8 into an 83 or 84 xe/zk/fd. Just an engine number change, done it a few times.

How you go running the El ecu in an xg?
-
We are doing an el xr6 motor into the xg ute I just did up for the shop ute atm. Much easier than the au engine, just change the timing case from the el one to the xg one then everything off the xg engine will fit the el engine (wiring, manifolds etc),and the el engine will drop straight in. There are better conversions, but on a car where cost and time is an issue (like our work ute) the el engine is the best bolt straight in option imo, that's why I'm going that way.

I've used the bodyline stuff, it's spot on.
-
Xa-xf are all the same width.
-
Xw xy are narrower than xa onwards.
-
Not easy but doable with an rrs kit and notched towers. There is a nice late model v8 that as good as fits straight in, cheap to buy too.

As others have said, ctrl lp is the smartlock circuit, and also goes through the stereo. I've had trouble starting them (ie smartlock wouldn't work) when I'd changed a stereo in one and not looped the smartlock wires back into themselves,It wasn't blowing fuses though. From memory the smartlock wire on the back of the radio is green with a yellow trace, one will have power one wont, hook them together and it bypasses the stereo.

Is XF engine crossmember the same as XW and XY
Ants replied to adrianphu123's topic in Body and Exterior
No it's not the tv Gaz,no one can see you. -
No, the fuel pump and sender out of the xh won't fit mate. Xf utes are carby xh efi, totally different tank.
-
They won't fit pre xa, the throw out fowls.the new ones to suit clevo are cheap now, I'm cheap too though so I tried the au type first.
