I'm looking for some rear doors. Mate today said he thought the rears were the same. We agreed that the fronts were different between electric and manual, but he was thinking that the rears might be the same. In a previous experience with an ESP they had to replace the doors on one side after a doings, he said they had a bit of greif with the fronts but the backs were no issue. Anyone know? Anyone got any for me? Either, I want a set of electric and a set of manual. I'll post in the wanted section aswell, but this is more of a clarification thread than a request

Yeah, but are the doors the same? He was thinking they bolt in or the manual reg can bolt into the same door

I had a TKO500, but sold it, was a direct replacement for TL. even had a new yoke cos it has 31spline outputshaft. You should be able to get one to simply bolt in

TKO500 will have the same input shaft as TL. TKO600 will be a 26 spliner, special clutch

T5? Maybe TKO, I'm not sure a T5 would take the torque. Dunno

Yep. I'd still shop around. Also, one thing he didn't mention is that it's made for the E-series. It's no big deal, but their brake lines are metric, ours are imperial. Speak to XM-221, he knows a guy who makes the perfect hose for the job. Personally I wouldnt use this, I see no reason to go to a 9" and keep 28spline axles. At the very least you'd want 31. Mate Jonesy was down into the low nines using modified factory F100 axles. I'll be going for 35spline axles, so I'll be looking for a house with the axle tubes and bearings to suit.

Nah man, it'd need modding like fuck. It's way too long. it's leaf spring. You could cut down the axletubes, then the axles, then redrill the PCD and turn down the spigot, then weld on new brackets. Not a 10 min job

Toe-out is awesome. Best mate had an Escort, we put 2mm toe-out on it, among other mods. The thing was twitchy as fuck, but fuck my dog it went well. You could have the thing sideways at 120kilos and there was no panic. But yeah, she took some concentration on straights

Where the LCA mounts to the body, there's an eccentric bolt/washer. Undo the nut, then turn the bolt head so the arm moves inwards. Don't jack the car up to do it. Make sure the wheels are straight. When you think it's correct, take the car for a drive, then check again. Make sure you drive to the position the car is in to do it, not lowered from a jack or on ramps etc

Looking to have some aluminium that's half painted and polished parts, I'd like to clear over the lot so I'm not having to keep polishing

Paint the lower section. Poilish the faces. Clear the lot.

Yeah, I tried. Oh lord how I tried. The rear window is the biggest cuntox. The little ones in the rear doors I could do. Even the actual window in the rear door the goes up and down is cunty. They have two curves in them, and I found the tint doesnt wanna play for me. I was using thick tint though. It was green mirror, so it might be thicker than normal tint, but it was nowhere near doable for me. Even after I left it sit over the glass in the sun beforehand to try and assist. Not saying you cant do it. I just dont advise it. My new car was on like $400 to tint the side and rear windows in 20%. Might be worth paying for

So two-pack the colour I want in the low spots. Polish the faces until they're shiny as fuck. Spray wax and grease remover (how long to let it soak?). Then pressure wash it, dry it, then two-pack clear over that?

Yeah, I spent ages getting the broken parts out, but I think it was tungsten, not steel. I run a big fuckoff magnet on my engine sump. I think I'll take that advice and put a magnet in that plug in the diff when I get my wavetrac back

I've got my nine inch apart at the moment. My carrier is away at the moment, so I've got a spool to put in for a bit. I cant remember when I last did mine. I think I had to set it to .020" backlash. Cant remember how to set the preload on the side bearings. I dont have to touch the pinion. So how do you do it?
